Privacy Policy
Skaldox ("we", "our", "the app") helps users identify products and find supplier listings.
Information we collect
- Search inputs: photos, text queries, and optional URLs you submit.
- Device identifiers: a hashed device identifier sent with requests for rate limiting and product improvement.
- Usage signals: optional satisfaction feedback and listing open events when learning features are enabled.
- Local device data: optional saved listings, search history, and local profile stay on your device unless cloud account features are enabled later.
How we use information
- Run product identification and supplier search.
- Improve search quality and reliability.
- Prevent abuse through rate limiting.
- Operate, secure, and support the Service.
Third-party services
To operate Skaldox we use trusted service providers (subprocessors) in these categories:
- Cloud AI / machine-learning providers — product identification, text analysis, and optional visual ranking
- Supplier and marketplace data providers — retrieving wholesale listing results
- Infrastructure / hosting providers — running the API, database, and related backend services
These providers process only what is needed to deliver the Service and do so under their own terms and privacy policies. A current list of subprocessors is available on request at privacy@skaldox.app.
Data retention
Search requests may be stored in our database for operations, diagnostics, and optional learning features. Local saved items and history remain on your device until you clear them or uninstall the app.
Your choices
- Clear local search history from Settings when available.
- Stop using the app at any time.
- Request deletion of stored server-side search data by contacting privacy@skaldox.app.
Children's privacy
Skaldox is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
Security
We use HTTPS in production, secret management for API keys, and rate limiting on search endpoints. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure.
International processing
Your data may be processed in the United States or other countries where our providers operate.
Changes
We may update this policy. Material changes will be reflected in the app, store listing, or on this page with an updated effective date.
